.What has happened in 2010!

Works that have been undertaken and projects that are currently being constructed.

St Aiden’s School underwent an extension to add to their school, completed in early 2010 for 275k

Rastrick High School had a major extension undertaken by Torpoint, with extensive external works and a bungalow refurbishment to the sum of 1.6m in October 2010. This project was one of many projects that Torpoint has worked with Langtry Langton Architects and MNB Partnership

Torpoint undertook their first contract of their recently acquired Kirklees Council Framework agreement. Torpoint was employed to demolish the existing library and build a new Library and Information Centre in place of the existing 1.1m. As well as extensive works to all aspects of the build Torpoint had to acquire a Good BREEAM rating for the building to be completed in November 2010.

Holy Trinity School in Leeds had a major 2 storey extension built 700k, despite problem occurring on site Torpoint finished the project within budget and within agreed timescales, was completed October 2010

Torpoint was asked to undertake a contract for Spawforths after their previous contractor opted out of the work. This work was at College Lane Surgery 150k for a extension at first floor level to form new GP rooms, contract was completed in April 2010.

nother project for Kirklees Council saw the Mirfield Children’s Centre extended with external works. Project was completed in May for 250k

Another project with Langtry Langton’s and MNB was Feversham Girls School – Bradford 1.3m. Due to the complex nature of the project, as a Muslim girls school Torpoint was successful in keeping all time scales and other compulsory objectives to make the project run a smoothly as possible. Works finished in September 2010.

2 projects for Leeds Diocese / Aedas Building Consultants saw Torpoint win tenders for St Francis School – Bradford and St Winefrides – Bradford. These works are both currently on going.
St Francis undertakes a new extension and major Refurb to the existing school for 1m
St Winefrides is of a similar nature for 1.2m

One of Torpoint’s more specialized contracts was for a Rural Craft Centre at Pennine Camphill Community College, these specially designed project was for 1.3m, after a successful contract the college also negotiated with Torpoint for the Refurb of the Administration block for 230k.

St Urbans School – Leeds require a new tensile fabric canopy to the exterior of the school and Torpoint was more than happy to undertake this, along with a small Refurb to some interior parts of the school, for 100k, phase 1 to be completed October 2010 with phase 2 in the February Half Term.
